Who is DeeJam?
DeeJam's Journey
Coming from the heart of the SFC’s Fillmore District, DeeJam is a respected name in West Coast hip-hop. Raised by his mother alongside three brothers and a sister, DeeJam found his creative voice early in life. His journey began as a DJ in his teens, but it wasn’t long before he started rapping and producing tracks for local artists, quickly becoming a force in the neighborhood scene.
DeeJam’s early rise was cemented thru his collaboration with the influential DJ/rap group Rag Top Productions, gaining popularity throughout the Bay Area. Performing alongside iconic names like Rappin’ 4-Tay, Marvellus, and Sweet D, DeeJam lit up stages all thru the Bay. At just 16 years old, he released his first vinyl single, “It’s a Life,” making his mark in the SF music scene
His passion for nurturing talent led him to build his own recording studios, becoming a creative hub for Bay Area artists. It was there that DeeJam discovered San Quinn, then a young aspiring rapper from San Francisco. The partnership led to the release of San Quinn’s debut album “Don’t Cross Me” under the independent Buck Fifty Records label
In recent years, DeeJam has returned to the studio with renewed focus. He launched his own independent label, Oh Rimes Records, and released two full-length albums: “Strictly Business” and “The Music’s on Me.” These projects highlight DeeJam’s signature blend of classic Bay Area flavor and modern production, proving his relevance in today’s evolving music landscape
